aritcles, we hope we have provided you with enough to get you
started on what this congregation seeks to embody.
I was asked recently to describe our church, and I responded by
noting that it is catholic (we believe in the One Body of Christ),
Reformed (we stand in the Great Reformation Theological Tradition),
and Historical (we seek to maintain the joyous historical worship
of the Church in ancient liturgy using beautiful music). But I
also added one other word, the one word Jesus said would be the
hallmark of his followers: Love. It isn't much use being Catholic,
Reformed, and Historical without the Love of Christ. St. Paul
wrote, "without love, I am nothing."
It's my prayer for you that you will also know the love of Christ
that surpasses knowledge, a love shown in the sacrifice of himself
on the cross to redeem us from our sins and purify for himself
a people that would be eager to follow him whole-heartedly. It's
also my prayer that you will come to see the Church as central
to God's plan to show his glory in the earth. No optional extra,
the Church is the intentional result of Christ's labors and his
Apostles' proclaiming the glad tidings, the Gospel, of God's grace.

to glorify God and enjoy him forever. I look forward to meeting
