The gospel makes us a learning community of Christ’s kingdom.

To be marked as the community of Christ’s cross is to submit to being life-long learners from Christ. It is to say to ourselves, to our children, and to the world around us that we do not know best, that we will not lean on our own understanding, but that we will in all things acknowledge Christ’s kingly wisdom and look for him to direct our paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Not only do we put off old ways of thinking because of Christ’s cross, we also learn to put on the mind of Christ, to think Christ’s thoughts after him, to take every thought captive to obey the Risen Christ (II Corinthians 10:5).

Therefore, at Redeemer Presbyterian Church, we seek to be a learning community of Christ’s kingdom: his school of disciples who sit at his feet, his family of children being trained up in the way of the Lord, his bride which needs to learn the extent of her husband’s love for her, his body which needs to be matured and prepared for service.
