We are excited to announce that, after a hiatus of several years, we will bring childrens’ choirs back to the life of Redeemer Presbyterian Church! Now that the Lord has graciously provided space for our children we can continue the ministry of teaching our children to sing.
Spring semester resumes January 15 - April 29, from 6:00 to 7:10pm, we will offer three children’s choirs, to include grades 4's/5's & Kindergarten, one to six. The Sunday evening schedule is grouped into two semesters, 12 weeks in the fall and 13 weeks in the winter/spring.
For many years now, I have been convicted of the necessity of the Church to take the responsibility in training up our children in their present and future roles of singing at home and in the Divine Services (and ultimately in our eternal worship in heaven). The purpose of this renewed RPC ministry is to teach our children more about the nature of public worship. This will include a fuller understanding of our liturgy and an opportunity to learn better the songs of the Redeemer Hymnal. We will also make every effort to teach our children how to sing beautifully and to become music readers, skills that will be useful for the rest of their lives. If we discover those who have difficulty singing on pitch, we will attempt to provide needed personal attention. Lastly we will provide the opportunity for our children to work together as a group by singing, occasionally, in the Divine Services.
